We have begun our new Rock City Robot season. With two returning members and three new faces on the team, we were so excited when the boxes with the new challenge components and mat arrived. We've put everything together and made up a few hypothetical situations that the robot might encounter, trying to design a robot that will function like we think it should.

Will the robot have to go over the bridge? Where does the crash dummy go? Do we get points for NOT knocking down the sensor walls?
We will just have to wait a little while longer to find out.
November 2009
Time has flown by, and we have been hard at work, building robots, discovering difficulties, solving problems, having success, and researching for the science presentation. Here are some pictures of what we have been doing since the challenge details were released in September.
Brainstorming and building robot attachments.

Testing a robot design.

Learning how to program the robot using Lego Mindstorm software.
So what does our robot look like today? We're not going to show you! You'll just have to wait until pictures from the competition to see what our final design looks like!
We've already got our research presentation finished, so now we're just rehearsing, rehearsing, and more rehearsing. It is a lot of fun, and we think people will enjoy seeing it!
We're doing a puppet show, featuring lots of cars!
Meet Max Mustang and Rosie Roadster, two characters from "The Fender Bender Show."
Working on the script and making some charts.
And, we also eat PIZZA !
Next on the schedule, Rock City Robot Team Presentation Day. Details about this event soon!
